Back in the summer of 2022, our founder Helen Marshall started to notice a pattern in the conversations she was having with women across the L&D, HR, People & OD spaces.
Every conversation touched upon the same thing: the need for connection and advice. The need to break out of individual bubbles, and de-tangle from the weeds of specific organisational politics to seek best practices and learn from others.
So in December 2022 Helen set up the initial WomenIn WhatsApp group.
In its first guise it was a group which provided a space to anyone identifying as a woman to connect, learn and share.
The group rapidly grew from 50, to 300, to 500, to its current membership which sits at over 1000 people. Women from across the world, from the UK, US, Canada, France, Austria, India, Indonesia and beyond, are connected and learn from each other daily.
The group has evolved into a WhatsApp community, and we now have over 20 sub-groups focused on: AI, leadership, coaching, wellbeing, events, neurodiversity, job opportunities, workshops and more.
The community is busy and vibrant. Full of active contributors and silent observers. There’s a space for everyone.
We also run regular virtual and in-person events to reinforce the themes we chat about.
